Euganean Hills Ring

The ititnerary has a ring shape developing aroung the Euganean Hills Park and is full of tourist destinations. It begins with Villa Molin, at the gates of Padua, continuing with the Castle of Catajo in Battaglia Terme, the prominent residence of the Obizzis; it goes on to Villa Selvatico-Sartori and then to Villa Emo, with its typical Italian garden. Once in Monselice, the itinerary restarts doind southwards, going through wide drained areas, where the landscape embraces the whole southern part of the Euganean Hills. At the western part, there is Este with its castle of the XIV century, the wonderful historical centre and its Bisatto Channel, which flows until Bomba, where it comes close to an ancient furnace, that nowadays presents the geo-paleontological museum of the Euganean Hills. The itinerary continues towards the hill of the town of Lozzo, on the slopes of which stands the perfectly maintained Castle of Valbona, to go on then towards Vo’ Vecchio, overwhelmed in a vintage atmosphere. In Bastia di Rovolon you will be surrounded by the famous euganean vineyards, which produce red wines and the aromatic Moscato fior d'arancio. Once reached the north-eastern part of the hills, it is worth the while visiting the Praglia Abbey, an authentic Renaissance crown jewel and an important centre connected to the Benedictine spirituality.
